Capturing Architecture, Design and Brand Identity

I recently had the opportunity to photograph the Carmex facility for MADE Architects. The assignment included exterior architectural photography, workplace interiors, conference rooms, collaborative spaces and architectural details throughout the building.

The project offered an opportunity to capture a workplace where architecture, interior design and brand identity come together.

Exterior Architectural Photography: The Impact of Light

One of the building's most distinctive features is its bold yellow exterior framing, expansive glass and clean architectural lines.

I photographed the exterior during the transition from daylight to evening, capturing the contrast between the illuminated architectural elements and the changing sky.

Working with the existing architectural lighting allowed me to emphasize the building's geometry, materials and dramatic entrance while maintaining the atmosphere of the surrounding environment.

Interior Photography: Color, Space and Design

Inside, the facility features a combination of contemporary workplace design, collaborative spaces and distinctive architectural details.

Expansive windows introduce natural light throughout the common areas, while yellow architectural accents and furnishings connect the interiors to the building's exterior design.

My approach focused on capturing both the overall spaces and the details that make them distinctive. Composition, perspective and lighting were especially important in communicating the scale of the interiors and the relationships between different design elements.

The photographs highlight several key features, including glass-enclosed offices, collaborative seating areas, employee gathering spaces and a conference room with a striking architectural ceiling.

Photography That Showcases the Architect's Vision

Architectural photography is about more than documenting a completed building. It's about creating images that communicate the design decisions, materials and details that define a project.

For this assignment, I created a collection of photographs that showcases MADE Architects' work while providing versatile imagery for architectural portfolios, websites, presentations and marketing materials.

From the illuminated exterior to the thoughtfully designed interiors, the finished photographs tell a cohesive visual story of the Carmex facility.
